Airport Regulations

 

 

  1. Baggage Regulations

    • Each piece of baggage must not weigh more than 22kg, regardless of airline policies. Bags with additional weight will be charged at 5 Royale Elites per kilogram.

    • Baggage will be subjected to unconditional screening, regardless of type of baggage. Bags found with prohibited items can be forced upon and the owner of the bag can be arrested under state law.

  2. Imperial Civil Aviation Safety Regulations

    • Aircraft on the tarmac are subjected to unconditional and unscheduled checks by officers from the Aviation Investigation Department (AID) and the Department of Aviation Safety and Security (DASS).

    • Aircraft with faulty hydraulics for any system are grounded until repairs have been made.

    • Aircraft with faulty electrical systems are also grounded until repairs have been made.

    • Aircraft struck by lightning midflight must undergo thorough maintenance before take-off.

    • Aircraft with tire pressures lower than 1,200 kPa or 12 bar are grounded until proper servicing has been done.

    • Aircraft must carry an excess of 2 tonnes of fuel required for the flight, regardless of weather conditions at the destination airport.

    • Aircraft cannot land at PIIA with more than 5 tonnes of fuel remaining in the fuel tanks; fuel jettison is required en route to PIIA.

  3. Airport Closure

    • The National Airports Authority (NAA), DASS, AID and PIIA reserve the right to close the airport for take-off or landing depending on the runway conditions without any prior notice.

    • During airport closure, all inbound flights will be diverted to Santa Eliza International Airport, San Porto International Airport or Cambescent Regional Airport. Other minor domestic airports will also be considered for diversion depending on the type of flight.

  4. Air Crew Checking

    • NAA, DASS, AID and PIIA reserve the right to stop any air crew from boarding an aircraft through unscheduled checks for alcohol and drugs without any prior notice to the airline.

    • NAA and PIIA reserve the right to deny certain members of any air crew the priority queue in Immigrations clearance, depending on the situation, without any prior notice to the airline.

  5. Air Traffic Control Regulations

    • Air Traffic Control (ATC) reserve the right to deny a flight from taking off or landing at PIIA depending on the situation without prior notice.

    • Aircraft travelling within 150 knots of PIIA must respond to any contact made by ATC, even if contact has been established with Port Imperial Area Control Centre (PIACC).

    • Aircraft with transponders turned off can be barred from all of Imperial Royal Union's airspace.

    • ATC reserves the final call on how an in-flight emergency should be handled if the aircraft does not give an adequate response.

    • If no contact can be established between ATC and an unidentified flight, ATC will pass over the situation at hand to the Royal Air Arms of Imperial Royal Union.

  6. Air Defense Regulations

    • Aircraft that do not respond to contact made by the Royal Air Arms of Imperial Royal Union can be identified as threats.

    • Unidentified aircraft can be investigated by interceptors from the Royal Air Arms of Imperial Royal Union.

    • Unidentified aircraft showing evasive attempts can be shot down by interceptors or any ground-to-air defense systems.

    • Unidentified aircraft that do not respond after making visual contact can be shot down by interceptors or any ground-to-air defense systems.
