Check-In

Check-in at Port Imperial International Airport is never a problem with the different options one can simply choose to minimise the time spent at the check-in counter and spend more time doing something better, for example, shopping?

Check-In Counters

When you're at the airport, look for the correct check-in row before proceeding to a row of check-in counters, where our efficient airport staff will aid you in your check-in - from the printing of your boarding pass to handling your baggage, all in just under five minutes. Of course, that is provided you arrive early before every other passenger on the same flight is queuing to have their bags checked-in. But rest assured, we keep queueing times no more than twenty minutes.

Check-in opens 2 hours before departure, and closes 35 minutes before departure. There is a maximum baggage weight of 22kg and each passenger is only entitled to one piece of checked-in baggage, as regulated by the National Airports Authority. Other surcharges apply for additional and/or overweight baggage items.

Self Check-In

Passengers can choose to use the self check-in machines to check-in to their flight. A boarding pass will be printed immediately through the self check-in machine.

Self Check-in opens 2 hours before departure and closes 20 minutes before departure. Passengers who have baggage that needs to be checked-in must proceed to the Self Baggage Drop.

Self Baggage Drop

Passengers who have checked-in via the Online Check-In or the Self Check-In can proceed to drop off their baggage here. The Self Baggage Drop will require passengers to tag their bags accordingly to the instructions given on the screens. Airport staff will also be there to assist passengers with difficulty handling the machines.

The Self Baggage Drop will open 2 hours before departure and 40 minutes before departure. Please be early if you want to use the Self Baggage Drop. The maximum baggage weight of 22kg still applies. The machine will only check-in one piece of luggage per person. Passengers with special requests regarding their baggage should proceed to the Check-In Counters where our airport staff can assist them.

Online Check-In

If all else is too troublesome, you can still choose to check-in at home via your carrier's website. Once you have done so, print your e-ticket and then head down to the airport to have your bags dropped off at the Self Baggage Drop.

Please check with your carrier for services regarding Online Check-In. Passengers with mulitple pieces of baggage and/or overweight baggage are advised to use the Check-In Counters instead.

Immigrations

Clearing the Immigrations at PIIA is a breeze; it is simply a touch-and-go experience. Of course, that doesn't mean that airport security, or national border security for that matter, is compromised.

What to prepare:

  1. Passport

  2. Boarding Pass

The Immigrations officer at the counter will take stamp the exit visa on your passport and your boarding pass will also be checked (but not stamped). You may then proceed to into the transit area, where you can spend the time you saved at Check-In and Immigrations at duty-free shopping!

Boarding

After you've cleared Immigrations or had your fill shopping or eating, you can proceed to your boarding gate to board your flight. Please be at the designated gate 45 minutes before departure. The last call will be made 15 minutes before departure, and the gate will close 10 minutes before departure.

Please use the toilets before heading to the boarding gate. There are no toilets in the waiting lounge of each gate. A security screening will take place where officers will screen your handcarry items and your entire body. Unless necessary, the officers will not touch you, needless to say anywhere near any sensitive areas of your body. You are reminded to empty all bottles containing any fluid unless they are kept in a bottle no larger than 100ml and in a sealed ziplock bag.

Please board the plane only when your seating zone on the plane is called out. Please do not hog up the entrance to the aerobridge if your seating zone has not been called up. This will help our airport staff facilitate boarding and board every single passenger in the fastest time possible.
