Getting Around

 

Public Transport

 

PIIA is covered by two types of public transport - the city metro, run by Metrolink, and the city bus, run by Zephyr Transnet, Port Imperial Bus Network and Capital Bus Service.

 

Metrolink Stations:

  • PIIA Terminal 9 (Terminus)

    • Terminal 9 Basement 3

 

  • PIIA Terminal 2

    • Between Terminal 1 and 2 Basement 3

 

All public buses will pick up and drop off commuters at the Public Bus Bays located in Basement 2 of every single terminal. The following is a list of buses and their stops:

Taxi

 

Transportation by taxi is advised against as taxi surcharges can be extremely high. The standard flag-down rate is at 3 Royale Elites. An airport surcharge of 4 Royale Elites will also be imposed on the taxi fare. Electronic Toll Gantries (ETG) situated along multiple exit points on the highway may also apply. An additional surcharge of 6 Royale Elites will also be charged upon entering the Central Financial District, Central Shopping District and Central Tourism District. A surcharge of 0.64 Royale Elites will be added for every 800m or part thereof travelled.

 

Taxis will accept cashcards, credit cards, debit cards and cash.

 

Car

 

Should you decide to drive to the airport, you can park your car at the basement car parks of each terminal. The first 15 minutes is free, but subsequent surcharges are at 1.3 Royale Elites every hour or part thereof. Should you park overnight, the airport car park will charge 2 Royale Elites per hour of part thereof beginning from 0000 hours to 0659 hours.

 

There are also drop off points along the departure level of each terminal and pick up points along the arrivals level of each terminal.

 

Shuttle Bus

 

For a fee of 3 Royale Elites, the airport shuttle bus runs between major points in the city and the airport. The following is the route of the shuttle bus service.

  2. PIIA Terminal 6 (Public Bus Bay)

  3. Linden Megamall

  4. National Museum of Imperial Royal Union

  5. Grande Palais South Gate

  6. Port Imperial Botanic Gardens

AeroRail

 

Of course, should you feel the need to travel to the next terminal for more shopping or more facilities, you can choose to take the AeroRail, a monorail service that connects all the terminals together for free. The monorail runs in a continuous loop for the public area, and the stations are located at level 3 of each terminal. This ride offers each traveller a unique panorama of the airport and majority of its offices. Within the transit area, AeroRail trains run on a main line, with terminus stops and each end. Travellers can board the AeroRail at level 4 of the terminal's transit area. However, Terminals 7 and 9 are not connected to the rest of the terminals in any way.
